About

The Island Breakfast Committee was created in 2014 to organize and run the annual Island Breakfast, a popular summer event. The Island Breakfast is a unique opportunity for citizens and visitors, who may not otherwise have access to the islands, to enjoy breakfast on Brockville’s Refugee Island and enjoy river life. The net proceeds from the breakfast events will be used to build a shelter, upgrade bathrooms and develop camping sites on Refugee Island. The first project will be to build a permanent picnic pavilion on the Island. To date, $50,000+ has been raised from this event to go towards the pavilion, which will allow us to move into the next phase of the project (posts and roof).

Each year over 2,000 breakfasts are enjoyed by patrons, sponsors, guests and of course the wonderful volunteers. Our volunteers have a great time with most of them planning to return to help out again year after year.

If you are interested in helping with this event either by sponsoring the event or volunteering, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our sponsor page and our volunteer page to find out more.

The Island Breakfast Committee (IBC) is a committee of council under the City of Brockville. The City of Brockville has a variety of Committees, in addition to Council, that are working constantly to serve our community better. Minutes from previous IBC meetings can be found here.
